How possible is it that a cure will be found?
There has not been a found cure for Xeroderma Pigmentosum due to the fact that it is almost nearly impossible for someone to stay away from the sun completely.
What is everyday life like? What is the quality of life?
By being “allergic” to the sun, a lot of people with Xeroderma Pigmentosum miss out on a lot of activities. They do not get a chance to enjoy the beach without getting severely sunburned.
How can Xeroderma Pigmentosum be treated?
As of now, there is no found cure of Xeroderma Pigmentosum. The only “cure” for it is for people with Xeroderma Pigmentosum to stay away from sunlight.
What is the life expectancy of someone with Xeroderma Pigmentosum?
The life expectancy of someone with Xeroderma Pigmentosum all depends on when they were diagnosed. If someone is diagnosed at an early age, and protected from sunlight, then they will have a normal life span. But if someone is diagnosed later in life, there is a high chance that they have already begun to develop skin cancer and will not make it past their 20’s.
